As We Take A Trip Back In Time Part 4

I am getting to the end of all the photos that I have collected in the past few years of the past... but as I said before I need to take another trip up to mom and dad's to go looking for more photos because I am sure there is more to be had and when I do I will add them... I there are at least two of them that I don't have and they are hanging in mom and dad's bedroom... one of Dad's dad and one of Uncle Howie... so here comes another part of your family's past... enjoy...

Dad's family... Aunt Vina... Aunt Leona, Aunt Carmey
Dad, and dad's mom and dad....

This photo was given to me by Aunt Vina it is
a photo of Dad and his cousin Sheila Melanson
which is Uncle Tommy's daughter...

Now if I am not mistaken this was done on a dare...
but I really have to check with dad on why
he was in his bathing suit on skies in the
middle of the winter will get back to you
on this one.. but yes it is our crazy dad...

Their Wedding Day ... July 29th, 1946

Once again Sheila she was about 18 years old...
it was her only trip to Bathurst in her adult life
and that was when Yvette who she is holding
in her arms was a baby...
Patsy , Yvette and I do believe
that is Roger on the bike...

Mike Furlotte, Roger with the sun shining in his face and
Donnie Melanson... could it be Confirmation Day...

That is me it is either Confirmation
or First Communion I am not really
sure... with Roger and Yvette
Christmas and Juanita is home... for the holidays..
and the is me in the funky pajamas...
More to come... The sun is out and it is calling for showers today so I think I am out of here for a while so I can enjoy the sun for this part of the day.... back soon... Joanne

As We take A Trip Back In Time Part 3

It is not because I forgot about the photos that I had downloaded it was because I was a little busy and thought I would get to it when I had the time to look through them so I could make a comment here and there....

These are some more of the photos I have found on a few of the cds that I have made over the years... scanning what I can when I had the time to look through all the photos that mom and dad has... making sure that I had a part of the pass that I didn't have before... knowing that when the day comes that I need to look back I have something to look back on.... I did find some new ones and will be posting them in time....

Another photo of mom and Yvette...

If I am not mistaken.. Yvette's first Communion ...

and she is the second one in the front row...there is a correction

on this photo by Pat... she said that it is her not Yvette... sorry about that (Oct 2)

As We Take A Trip Back In Time Part 2

Last night before heading to meet up with Pat I did some looking through some of the old photos that I was given by mom and dad sometime back and this early morning once again I am sharing with you....
These are of Mom and Dad, Nanny and Papa and their brothers and sisters... well of the ones that I had photos of any way...

Mom in her younger days....

Dad watching as the kids unwrapped their Christmas gifts..
Mom taking a well deserved break and with
us monsters running around the house
I am sure it was a rare thing with her...

Mom
Mom cleaning up before heading back home
from a trip to their much loved
Portage Lake Camp fishing trips...
I had to put this photo in...Mom was not sick when I took this photo over 20 years ago... (actually it was her birthday) this was part of the promise dad made to her when he retired and he stuck to it all these years... he told her she had cleaned, looked after the children, cooked and everything else that a wife does... so when he retired he would take on the cooking for her... and this was her taking adventure of it... every morning for many years mom would have breakfast in bed after dad came back from his morning trip to MacDonald's... and today though it is not in bed... her breakfast is placed on the table ready for her when she gets up in the morning... today dad teases her about it saying he wouldn't have made this promise if he knew he was going to be around for this long... the brat he is ... but we still love him... he he

Dad at work...
I see mom on dad's side but I am not really sure who
the other ladies are... but by the smile on dad's face
he is not complaining...and the ladies don't look too
upset being there either he he

Dad with Uncle Tommy's Dog...

Every night after dinner dad would go sit on his side of the sofa in the den and would proceed to have that after dinner nap... only it was not a nap to him... when we would ask him what he was doing... he would never admit that he had fell asleep.. it was always "I am just resting my eyes." Ya right dad... so if you were just resting your eyes what was the snoring about that went with it... he he
These next two photos are the only ones I have found of Uncle Larry...
who was Mom's brother...

This is the gang from Plaster Rock... In the photo there is Mom...
I think the next one is Frankie, Aunt Puss..
Louie and Tommy but I am not sure who the lady or the girl is...
maybe Jeff can help me with that one...
Aunt Puss was Dad's sister...
Tommy, Uncle Amy, Louie and Aunt Puss
Uncle Amy

Mom's sister Aunt Irmine

Uncle Tommy and his dog...( dad's Brother)
I remember when he use to come to visit...
and how strange that he had a wife with a man's name...
Aunt Bernie... he he...

Aunt Carmey (dad's sister) and when she passed away
I made her my guardian angel... and she has been doing
a good job I have to say... after all these years I still miss her
very much....

Kind of a handsome dude.
Don't you think...
this is Uncle Roger (Mom's Baby Brother)

This photos was given to me by Aunt Vina...
Poor dad growing up with all these girls...
There is Aunt Vina... Aunt Leona.. Dad and Aunt Carmey
Well that is an other little walk down memory land for those who are old enough to remember these people while they were growing up... I was surprised that I didn't have a photo of Uncle Art (dad's brother) I am going to ask him about that one... would like to have one of him... he is the Uncle I remember the most... he use to drive me home when his son Bernie moved up to Middle River... each time I got in the car his little love bug... I would pray all the way home hoping that I would get to see mom and dad one more time... my god he was a bad driver... but I still loved him...
This will continue again... now I am going back to bed for a few hours before really starting my day... though I am thinking breakfast would be good just about now... he he
Have a wonderful Thursday guys... Jo
