The puppies are Happy Still ....

Sunday night and it has been a day of very little voice... I guess tomorrow after my appointment with dad in the early morning I will be heading to my doctor to see if I can get my throat checked to see if there is an infection going on or what... because right there now all the water is not helping... med I have either and I am tired of sucking on cough drops especially since they are not helping me all that much...and it is a pain trying to talk to mom the way my voice is at the moment... there has been a lot of writing and reading going on today when I went up to visit...

Besides that not a lot is going on... still making things to put up as decorations... still have not moved the tree upstairs yet... thought of it a few times today and said the heck with it... think it is the throat that is stopping me from doing all that much around the house...

Ohhh yes I mentioned dad and an appointment ... should mention what it is about... he has been getting needles for blood behind the eyes for some time... he missed that last one because he was in the hospital so we doing catch up for this last one he missed... he also needs to get this before going and getting his eyes tested and new glasses... I am trying to get this all done before Christmas...

Anyone Want My Cold...

The throat is still very sore.... the voice is completely gone so I am no use to any one what so ever... especially to mom ....I am coughing and sneezing ... my head feels like it is going to explode... did you know that you cough in a lower tone when you have lost your voice really funny to hear...the only thing I am not aching all over... for now any way....

After coming home from the market and mall... ohhh yes picking up Mr. Kodak from the Groomers... he is looking very cool at the moment... and if I could swell I am sure he is smelling very good as well... but that is gone too....the market I picked up our 34 pound turkey for Christmas.... some baking goods for Mom and Dad... and of course some fresh eggs from the same farmer that I got the turkey from... dropped off the baking goods and turkey at mom's since my freezer is not big enough to hold it... and off to the malls to finish up Craig's box... got very lucky and picked the rest of it up..

On the way home I stopped in at Tim's for some timbits for the puppies since the two of them really did good with the groomer .... I asked for anything but chocolate and when I got home they gave me all chocolate.... the puppies were so disappointed as I took the box and throw them in the garbage can .... I will have to go get them some more tomorrow.... so after that disappointment they watched me wrap gifts... box them and then wrap the box.... now if I get an address for it... I will have it out in the mail and it will be under their tree come Christmas... it is all up to Craig... he he....

After Roger calling to say that he was taking mom to church... ohhh thank you so very much by the way.... I climbed into bed... put some music on the TV and went to sleep for all of 30 minutes when the phone rang... I am going to get myself an answering machine.... I keep telling myself that but I don't do it... so I was up talking or tried to talk for a few minutes and that was all it took... I have been up since... wonder if I can try it again without a call... except Carl of course LOL...

Well that was my day.... I am taking tomorrow for meds and bed... no doing anything...HA like that is going to happen... but we will see...

Christmas is Officially on the Way...

Everyone knows that I have started my decorating almost a month ago... just after Carl left the house and each day even a month later I have added something or other to the house... and this morning was no different... but today it is official with Christmas is coming to town... this afternoon I went up to mom's and started the stairway for her .... gold ribbon, green garland with red bows... doesn't look too bad if I can say myself... I even have Pat helping out today... as mom watched... trying to decide where she wanted the Christmas Tree would go....

So that was my day... getting ready to go up to the house and decoration a little at mom while dad and Roger when up to the hospital for the removal of the stitches... which went ever well... I don't think they were gone an hour which meant that I didn't get everything done before they came back... while we working in the ho use Roger was getting Mr. and Mrs. Santa set up outside... a good team I have to say....

So tonight I will work on some more of my stuff to be put up tomorrow and on Sunday even though I said I will hold off until the 10th... I will probably get the tree up to the room.... and set it up for the lights and decorations...

THe Fun has Started

I have come down with a heck of a cold... yuck, yuck, yuck....and with it I have lost my voice most of the day.... in the morning I seem to be okay but by evening... it is gone.... some would call this a blessing... I am not sure for who... because I am living alone except for the puppies.... LOL...

Tonight the lack of voice was very good for Kodak since he got off his rope and because of my voice I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he couldn't hear me calling him and that is why he came back when he felt like it... I do have to say Miss Maggie was a little upset over him leaving... or was it because she thought she should have been out there running around as well...

Part of the morning was spent wrapping packages to be mailed out....so Lisette and Monique keep an eye out there is one heading your way.... I would tell Peter and Jill the same thing but I don't think they read the blogs...

After that I thought I would get Craig's stuff started and at the end of the day I was still not finished... and it was only because I didn't know what to pick up... I hate shopping for something I don't know what I am looking for... though I did come home with two new Snowman for myself ... like I really needed that but they were just too cute to be left behind.... and of course I finally found the Christmas Store at the Mall... the malls are still not too full for shopping so it wasn't all that bad... hoping that I get this all done before they do... I hate crowds....

Of course today while I was at mom's I was elected to do their shopping as well... lucky me... but after some discussion I only have to go to one store for all.... God I am good at times.....

I didn't put any more decorations up today... actually after a few phone calls and dinner I made the mistake of leaning back on my chair and 1.5 hours later I came to life from the ringing of the phone....

I know I should have spent the day resting with this cold but if I don't get these things done they will never will.... so I will rest when all is done...

Hump Day and I am trying to figure out if I am going to sit in front of this thing for the morning or head out and get some shopping done before everyone else gets there and makes the malls and stores crowded....



While working on yet another project last night and burning my fingers from the hot glue... I decided that today was the day I was going out and getting the rest of the gifts I know I want picked up... so it wouldn't be all that much more after.... the mind is willing but this body knows the bed is still nice and warm and is calling me back... but I know if I do go back that is it for the day... books, TV and sleeping... you think anyone would notice if I skipped Hump day this week... more likely... so I guess it is get ready to head out time for me...



Actually I need more supplies for my project and if I want to finish it I do have to go out... balls and berries... I am making a garland for the bedroom.... made Carl laugh last night when I told him if he didn't get home soon there wouldn't be an open spot in the house that I have not decorated.... all inside nothing outside... hmmmm wonder how many more containers I will be needing this year when I start putting things away... lol

Well I am back from shopping... only picked up one gift but it was actually a re do thing... I want to give someone some photos and had a frame here but when I put them into it... I really didn't like it... so had to re place it...

I was looking at movies today but then most times when I go I usually look at them and each time I laugh at the thought of when these movies came out people were actually paying 20.00 and up for them... and now they are on for only 6.88 or 2/10.00... since Carl has been gone my movies have increase greatly the only thing about that there is not one of them I am sure he is going to want to watch because they are basically girlie movies... but then if he gets bore enough maybe he will... he he

Before the Dollar Store put in the debit machines I would make sure that I had at least 20.00 in my pocket when I went in... boy did they do good for themselves since they changed their ways... because today I walked out with over 40.00 worth of stuff... it seems that it have been increasing each and every time I walk in there... they put out new stuff again the day I was not in... so you know I had to get several things more then what I went in for...

I dropped in to see mom and dad today and found out that Roger was home with a cold... hmmm now I know where I got this sore throat from... smack him upside the head for sure...

Next to shopping there has not been all that much going on... I did get the garland up in the bed room actually I made too much and ended up putting it up on both sides of the room... now where else can I do something around the house.... I know the tree has not been put up yet.. think the 10th will not make it... maybe this weekend... since I find them the longest time of the week for me...

Well it is time to do some photography for Pat so have a good one all....

Busy Tuesday Setting The Pace For Next Week...

It has been a good but busy day.... I finally took the time and got my hair trimmed this morning in hopes that the hair will get below the ears without driving me crazy... I decided I am not all that crazy over the short hair cut I have been sporting for the last several months... now I would like it a little longer just enough to go over the ears kind of thing...keeping it still gray... with no curls ... made some calls for appointment for both dad and myself.... actually found something that Carl said it was or I should say close by it any way and went to order the bottom handles of the snow blower and with some luck ... and crossing fingers they will be in before Carl comes home... that way I will not have to hear all those prayers he usually says when the handles break on it while blowing the snow he he....

The puppies got a chance to get out of the house other then on their rope... they went up and visited with mom while I sat with her when Roger and Dad when to the doctor's this afternoon to get some of his medications renewed... and his flu shot... all is good with him... he is feeling some burning feeling in his wrist but that is normal I guess.... he will get the stitches out on Friday and on Monday he is back to the ear doctor to get needles in them for the blood that is behind the eye balls if I am not mistake....

It is only the beginning of this week and I have the week filled for next week... of appointments... except for Tuesday... Two for dad, one for mom and would you believe I actually have an appointment at the hospital for a change.... yearly check up... nothing to worry about... the same with mom and dad... so if any one wants me you have Tuesday and that is about it... for the week after...only one appointment so far for the week after.... glad that the gas prices are down for now he he....

Well I am out of here... Pat has a meeting tonight and I am going to play the photographer... for her.... so have a great one....

Birds and Mr. Nutty

I have been sitting here for the last 10 minutes waiting for photos to upload from my camera so I could share them with you... and realized I had not even clicked the start transfer buttom...duh me....
Mr. Nutty 1 and 2 are back for the winter it seems... Saturday morning while the snow was falling they were already getting their tunnels ready to make their way to the feeders through out the winter....of course the others are back but they are not making tunnels to get to the food.. the puppies were out this morning and got rid of most of the tunnels in great hopes they will find a bushy tail in them....
I was up to mom and dad's at lunch time and got some photos of their birds that are coming to visit their feeder that Roger put up on the clothes line stand... I rare see morning doves on things but the ground but around here they are flying up to the clothes ling stand and to the feeder... and then comes the Starlings... they are quite a sight to watch.... so I had my camera and snapped some photos...

Finally The Sun Was Out....

After the snow day yesterday we actually had a pretty good day here.... the sun came out... which was really nice to see since I don't remember the last time I seen it...

I thought I would try and clean the yard up today... but after about an hour I said to heck with this and came into the house and called Gammons to come blow the yard and put me on auto cleaning... enough was enough though I did get an area opened for the spoiled ones that is use to having Carl around to blow out a run way for them.... they wouldn't venture pass the steps yesterday ...

The town was crazy as I went to get a few things I needed... since I couldn't find my favorite shovel I went out and bought another one... it is not a scoop but it isn't a shovel either...I think you would call it a push on... some driveway markers and I actually went into Super Store to pick up some margarine and it only took me 1/2 hour to get through the self serve counter... it was packed in there... and that was enough for me... I went back to mom's to pick up the pot I forgot there so I could refill it with some more homemade soup... and came home only to be home for about an hour... and headed off to Carl's sister's place for dinner... nice to have someone else make a meal and actually don't have to walk around the kitchen looking at empty cupboards and fridge wondering what I was going to eat tonight...

All in all it was a quiet day... I did go up and clean my car out of the yard at mom's but there was snow on the roads and since I didn't put winter tires on it I wouldn't move it until the pave is bare... but this time I left the keys at the house so they can actually move it if it snows again...

Dad's hand is coming along very well... he said there is a little burning feeling but it is coming along nicely... of course he is liking the time off from the cooking part of the day.... which in my eyes is always nice at any time or any reason...

So there was not a lot going on around here today so it is short... Have a wonderful evening Joanne

A Snow Day

Saturday was spent in the house... opening the door long enough to leave the puppies out and in throughout the day... it was a snow day and spent the day watching the snow fall into the yard and wondered if I was going to have to get the shove out... or just drive out of the yard... but then I was not planning on going out any way today so what would it matter any way...
I took advantage of the day .... working on my photos ... they are still on the computer but slowly moving them back on cds hoping that it will be easier to find photos I want to get to a little easier this way I am doing them....watched a few movies while I made some of the decorations I wanted to change for the house this year... trying to finish everything but the tree .... which got me into moving yet another room around again this week....

The other night when I was talking to Carl I realized that I couldn't get to my snowman because it was in the storage area that was behind the bed... so the next night I took the time to slowly move the bed to the front of the window... so I could get to the snowman... even though I have not taken it out yet because I am not really sure where I am to put it yet... it is the same way with my singing Santa... it is still in the box... Then this afternoon for the second time I moved around the sitting room trying to figure out where I am going to put the tree this year... I was going to buy another tree but changed my mind and used the money I was going to use on it on some lamps for the bedroom which we never really never had in the bedroom before....

Mom liked my soup on her birthday that I made another one for her today... well I started one any way... well finish it in the morning... and if the roads are cleared enough I will bring it up tomorrow... and move my car... since it is still at the house... since I got my jeep...

Well that is about it... a very inactive day... which is always nice once in a while...

86 and Still Kicking... Nanny's Birthday

A Day Late but better late then never... don't you think?

86 years ago she came into this world by the grace of God...52 years ago she became my mom....Today we celebrated her birthday...as we gathered together at home those that could...In recent years I have been terrible as I celebrate each and every occasion to the fullest hoping with all my heart that it will not be the last time it would be celebrated...but knowing that it could be...

I hug her with tenderness knowing that if I squeeze too hard I may break her... I hold her hand and it seems to be that of a young child's but I look and see they are of a woman that has worked hard all her life... taking care of the man she loved the day she married and more so today.... of the children she brought into this world... caring for their needs... allowing them to grow... teaching them to be strong and letting them go into to the world to make their own pathway through life....

I thank God that I still have her with us... so we can celebrate another occasion in her life...
