The Sun is just about to touch the tops of the trees... the cars are covered with a very heavy frost which almost makes you look twice to make sure that it didn't snow though the night ... The frost is shining like little diamonds from the sunshine... wonderful way to start the second phase of getting up in the morning...
Eating my breakfast as I watch the puppies as they are running trying to catch Mr. Nutty and a few of the birds that are tempting to get a few seeds before they come a running after them... as Christmas plays in the background....
My long wanted Santa Claus was taken up last night only to be disappointed in a way... it stands by the french doors... silent unless Carl turned something off and I have no idea what it is... if not it will remain silent this year...he dances and his mouth moves as if he is trying to sing but not a sound comes out... I was little upset over it last night but this morning work or not he he still is a handsome little dude...he is more then welcome to stay for the holidays...
I am not a morning person ... any of my brothers, sisters, children and Carl can tell you that I am telling the truth... though I am up usually early most mornings I like my quiet time even before I start my day... A cup, no two cups of tea, the computer or just going around the house picking up things or re arranging things just quiet and slow....the only thing I hear once in a while is one of the puppies growling at something I can't see but they can... just a little reminder for me to keep the door locked while I am here and out...
The Gross beaks have arrived in the last week which means I need to fill the feeders more often... I have about 20 of them at the feeders at the moment while the chickadees continue to fly in and out picking up their breakfast... every once in a while a blue jay comes flying in making everything else to scatter but return shortly... Mr. Nutty has been in already but quickly vanished as soon as the puppies went out... but will return shortly after they return to the warmth of the house...
The day's plans have been made and if I would have moved a little quicker this morning I would have missed the crowds that started to gather at the Walmart... but I didn't so I waited in line with everyone else... and then to the Dollar Store for a few of much needed things for the job at hand... putting lights and greenery on the front entrance.... but before that a stop for a short visit with mom and dad's.... Dad had a good laugh as I tried for the first time to put on his special socks that he wears... darn do those suckers take a lot to put on when you don't know what you are doing... but I was successful after a few tries...
After getting home I opened all the windows in the front...(and yes Carl I turned down the heat when I did it... I did remember this time he he) came in turned the Christmas music on full (which Carl would have turned down if he was here...he he.. he is a closet Grinch you know) and headed outside to wrap lights in the front... Now Carl is the one that hooks all this up to the extension cord and to the remote control... so I was lost here so when he comes home if he ever comes home he can fix it up because I know I didn't do it right... maybe I should have paid attention...
The cheeks, nose and ears are red... the nose did the usually run form the cold... the toes and fingers are starting to have feelings back in them... but I have lights on both side of the railings... but only have one side with greenery and that is because I thought it would only take one strip and it ended up using two... so I have to do up two more in the morning ...
As I was doing this I realized why the tree and the decoration outside has not been really fun but more like work... all the rest of the house I do the decorations.. but when it comes to the tree and outside has been a together thing.... (message to you know who) sniff, sniff I miss you today more then ever... I did together stuff alone... no fun... I think it is time for you to come home... so if you don't mind... move your butt buddy... besides I want to do some major shopping here and I need you to carry the bags he he....
The day came to the end with a wonderful visit with Robin... who surprised me with a call this morning.. he was in town... love his visits... and they are never long enough... do I sound like a selfish and greedy woman when it comes to the men in my life ... he he
There is only 19 days left guys... hope you are a head of the game ...
