Saturday's Sometimes Just Don't Turn Out The Way They Should

Saturday night and the day is almost done.... not much sun shining our way and no outside work at all was done here... but still a busy day... with some fixing of things that needed to be fixed and I actually decided to finally get the strawberries out of the fridge and do something with them like make jam... and since I don't keep white sugar in the house I did pick some up yesterday but of course not enough to make the jam... so I headed up to do some running around and when I got home not really thinking properly ended up adding 1 cup of sugar to 1 cup of berries... to the second batch of strawberries... you know that one didn't get made... Carl came up with the idea of taking and rinsing them so I put them into the fridge... think they will land of the ice cream I am planning on have sometime before going to bed... but I did get 6 bottles maybe my orange marmalade will turn out better when I get around to doing it.... no running out and losing my going to do some preserving mode....

We picked up our last lobster of the season today as well... well Carl's last lobster since there is a good part of it I still can't dig my teeth into... but he was very nice and shared with me and I had a sandwich after I chopped it all up... not like the ones I do lots more salt...

A trip up to see mom and dad of course... wouldn't be a day if I didn't pop in to see what is going on in their lives... We didn't even go to the Market today.. well we did or Carl did for potato wedges but the line was so long he didn't stay... he will have to wait for next weekend for wedges...

Well that is the extend of what went on around here....

On the final note I have to say .... ha ha Roger you got caught... teach you not to be that way LOL.... Love ya Jo ...

Why Do I Start My Day This Way?

I hate it when I get up in the morning being an emotional wreck.... and have no reason for it ... that I know of any way... maybe it is old age setting in....I got on line to read two of my niece's blogs ... one that her daughter's Sarah was going into High School come September and realized that there is so much of this young girl's life I have missed because they live away.... of course the tears started up then... Then the second blog of Monique's was about her mom Yvette and the changes that has come about with her from her trip with Danie to Houston... tears restarted to see how much of a wonderful time she was having with her girls... and then I realized that I am without two of my sisters... for some time now... hmmm should I dare say that I am missing them very much this morning...

I have been very lucky to be the youngest sister of this family because my two older sisters have been great friends to me and having them close by has been a blessing that I guess I have not said to them ever much... Yvette it seems to be gone for ever with her travelling in the last several weeks .. and Pat headed out on Sunday for summer camp for three weeks or so... with both of them gone there is a void in my life... no one to pick up and call and talk to ... make my life more understandable when things are not just going right here... just having a talk about nothing but laughing about it... just being there... so this message is to them... get your butts back here soon... you two have become a bad habit I can't break.... he he

It had been calling for rain for the whole week but something happened...the wind changed and the sun actually came out yesterday which put some kind of step into Carl... because he has been out working in the yard since yesterday morning... trimming everything in site... mowing the lawn... cleaning up... I actually got out yesterday afternoon to get some watering of the potted plants done... the deer flies are out like crazy by the way...I got part of the oat tree trimmed so we can mow under it.... and people that was driving by on their way home from work must of thought I was a bloody nut watering the veggie garden but in truth I was miracle growing it... and this morning I got up to Carl out once again... but this time he is working on the mower since something was making it sound really funny last night... maybe it was telling him it was time to stop ....this morning if I can get the tears in check and get my lazy backside out of this house... I am going to attack the Forsythia .... try to put some shape into it since it is really looking very sad at the moment.. actually Rebecca mentioned that it was very scary looking at night... maybe I should have done it sometime ago.... but better late then never...

Besides that I make sure I spent at least two hours of my day with the knitting needles ... I just finished up my three blanket for our Bean and started a 4th on last night... in between that I am making some booties carrying needles and yarn with me every where I go so if I have a moment a row or two can be done...

Well I should go make something for breakfast I see Carl is out of the garage and I know he has not taken the time to eat yet... a trip up to mom and dad's today is called for... one of the plants fell yesterday and I need to replant it...

We were invited over to the house to celebrate Father's Day dinner of Chinese... by the way not sure if I said it .. Thanks Karen and Marc for the wonderful meal....

And there was so much food... maybe because I couldn't eat most of the stuff he he....

Monday And Raining

Monday and I am not alone today... the rain has caused problems with water levels at his job so Carl is home ... hmm the way things are looking he will be home for the week because there is no letting up from what they are saying... though this morning before 8 am it was not raining and someone not saying who, but you all know him, was out on the lawn tractor mowing the lawn... and you know who wanted to shot him it the backside with a salt bullet if I had one he he... instead he got a slap in the back of the head for getting me up that early...lightly of course just wanted to let him know I was a little upset with him...

I have been trying more solid foods today... my mouth is still very sensitive... I did have chicken tonight for dinner but I took and chopped it up before trying to chew it... looking forward to having that I can bite into that is not mushy in the near future...

Now that the news is out I can say that I have been also knitting my fingers off for the last month or so... I made my first baby bonnet tonight while trying to watch Swing Vote only for it to go off the air with about 45 minutes left of the movie ... but the bonnet after several starts turned out not to bad... I also worked on the third knitted blanket as well and as it grew in length thoughts of what the next one was going to be was running through my head... I still have 6 months to go before the baby is born... 16 weeks before I get to see it through ultra sound so I can actually start doing things in either pink or blue... it is not like I am counting here... he he... I also made three pair of booties and three things called cuddle sacks which were way too easy to make and had to stop because the baby would have a dozen of them... every time I am in a store with yarn I am picking more of it up... so this has been keeping me busy and out of trouble if that is all possible... I spend a lot of time on line looking for patterns for different things and still have several that I have not tried yet... but I will be soon I am sure....

Of course I do have a few pictures of Father's Day but have not thought of taking the camera upstairs to download them... I will try to make a point of that tomorrow for those who want to see them...

Friday .. day two and all went well with the dentist this morning... still gagging a bit but that is normal... really surprised how there is so little pain after all of this...

Not a lot going on around here today... Carl is home for the weekend... which is always nice... Mom and dad are good.. the nurse was in today and all is good in that department... Hubert was up to visit today at mom and dad's which was nice to see him since I had not seen him since May... and I think he is missing his woman... so Yvette get your butt home young lady...
